How much teaching experience do you have?

I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years.

Do you have performance experience?

Yes. My “rock star” days are over but for many years I played lead guitar in professional bands that recorded and gigged on a regular basis.

Do you have CRB clearance to teach minors?

Yes. I have CRB clearance.

What age group do you teach?

I teach adults and children from 12 years old and/or year 7 upwards.

Can I take graded exams – even for electric guitar?

I teach numerous guitar grade syllabi, including LCME and Rockschool, both of which organise internationally recognised examinations in electric, acoustic, classical and bass guitar – from total beginner, through grades 1-8, to Diploma level. All graded exams are accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA), and UCAS points are available for grades 6-8. So, if required by the student (or student’s parent), I can tailor lessons to follow a grade syllabus as well as assisting overall with the exam process and preparation.
