Luke DeaconGuitar Teacher

How much teaching experience do you have?

I have been teaching guitar for 20 years.

Do you have performance experience?

Yes. My “rock star” days are over but for many years I played lead guitar in professional bands that recorded and gigged on a regular basis.

Do you have CRB clearance to teach minors?

Yes. I have CRB clearance.

Is there easy parking outside your home studio?

Yes, there is parking space on the drive outside my guitar studio.

Can I take graded exams – even for electric guitar?

Yes. The Registry of Guitar Tutors, of which I am a member, organises internationally recognised examinations in electric, acoustic, classical and bass guitar – from total beginner to Diploma level – in partnership with London College of Music Exams and certificated by Thames Valley University. All RGT graded exams are accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA), and UCAS points are available for grades 6-8. So, if required by the student (or student’s parent), I can tailor lessons to follow an RGT curriculum as well as assisting overall with the exam process and preparation.
